Alex Atala is perhaps South America's most famous culinary name and a champion of Brazilian produce and flavour.
He studied Hospitality in Namur, Belgium before heading to France to work under Jean Pierre Bruneau and Bernard Loiseau. Returning to Sao Paulo, he opened his own restaurant D.O.M. In 1999, and when the Michelin Guide Brazil debuted in 2015, D.O.M. was the country's first and only recipient of two Michelin stars.
Alex continues to work with indigenous ingredients, introducing native and often unexplored ingredients into classic recipes and has since opened a two more restaurants in the city of Sao Paulo, Dalva e Dita and Açougue Central as well as all day eatery Bio, which endeavours to use every part of each ingredient. Dalva e Dita has since opened a small market next door to serve produce, rotisserie and coffee to Paulistanos.
We're bringing former professional DJ Alex and a taste of Brazil to our LeBlanq Ibiza event in 2023, and we can't wait.
