Once upon a time considering a career in Dentistry, José Pizarro followed his true passion, becoming a culinary force in the world of Spanish cuisine. Celebrated for his passion and creativity in bringing the vibrant flavours of Spain to global audiences, Pizarro has spent over two decades honing his craft, blending tradition with innovation to create unforgettable dishes that evoke the warmth and authenticity of his homeland. Known for his love of fresh, high-quality ingredients, he masterfully transforms Spanish classics into modern delights, from rich tapas to flavourful paellas and beyond.
José hones the idea that great tapas is for all, and that home cooks shouldn't be afraid of cooking several smaller dishes, it's all in the prep and keeping it simple.
Moving from a rural village in Spain to living in London, over the last 25 years José has become notorious for his Spanish cuisine in the UK, opening his first restaurant 'José' on Bermondsey Street in 2011. He now owns six restaurants in the UK and one in Abu Dhabi.
José's charm, passion and enthusiasm has led to his regular appearance on our favourite TV food programmes, including being a chef on BBC 1's Saturday Kitchen, ITV's This Morning and Channel 4's Sunday Brunch.
