Best known as the charismatic Spanish cyclist, and for his boldness and relentless fighting spirit on the road, Juan's name became synonymous with breakaways and daring solo attacks, particularly in the gruelling, cobbled races of Northern Europe. Flecha had a unique style, a formidable classics specialist, effortlessly cutting through rough terrain and punishing weather with an unwavering determination.
Flecha’s fearless approach made him a crowd favourite in races like Paris-Roubaix, where he often challenged the world’s best riders, braving mud, cobbles, and constant attacks. His trademark arrow-shooting victory celebration, inspired by his name (which means "arrow" in Spanish), became a signature move that fans loved. Known for his endurance, versatility, and incredible tactical insight, Flecha was more than a race, he was an artist on wheels, a symbol of grit, and an inspiration for anyone who believes in daring to push boundaries.
Throughout his illustrious thirteen-year career as a professional cyclist, Juan accomplished a stage win at the Tour de France, victory in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and visits to the podium at the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. Since then, he became owner of bicycle company, Passoni and he's shared his expertise and enthusiasm with another generation as an expert commentator, regularly commentating for Eurosport and last year, started his own YouTube channel sharing a wide array of content; reviewing industry-leading products, interviewing riders, race previews and beyond.
